The number of discharged Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients in Nigeria reached 2, 501 on Wednesday, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 116 more discharged persons, AllNews reports.
The total number of confirmed cases is now put at 8, 733, with 254 deaths.
389 new cases of the COVID-19 was confirmed in the West African nation as Lagos continues to be the epicentre of the dreaded virus.

In fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, many countries of the world acted swiftly where, to varying degrees, lockdowns, partial lockdowns, bans on large gatherings, curfews and border closures were introduced.
It is expected that with more testing, the number of cases will increase significantly in Nigeria.
