COVID-19: Palace Of Emir Of Daura Closed Off

 

The palace of the Emir of Daura, Katsina State, Umar Farouk, has been closed off after there was a reported case of coronavirus at the monarch's home. 

The Secretary to the State Government, Mustapha Inuwa, who was quoted by the Daily Trust said that the closure of the palace was just a usual routine at any place where there is a suspected coronavirus case.

The secretary said that blood samples had been taken to a lab for testing from the palace.

The Katsina State Police Command spokesperson, Isa, said, “Daura is under lockdown and so it shall be in every nook and cranny in the town without exception to anybody’s house, the police are just ensuring the lockdown order of the state government.”

In April, the Governor of Katsina State, Bello Masari, had imposed a lockdown on the Daura Local Government after three cases of coronavirus were recorded.

The lockdown followed the death of a medical doctor in the state, Aliyu Yakubu, from coronavirus complications.
