COVID-19 Patient Gives Birth In Lagos

The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) has announced that it has successfully delivered a third expectant mother diagnosed with COVID-19 of a baby boy.

The hospital disclosed this on its Twitter page on Friday adding that the 33-year-old mother had delivered a 3kg baby boy via a cesarean section on May 14, 2020, and both mother and child are doing perfectly well.

"A team of LUTH doctors, anesthetists and nurses delivered another woman with COVID-19 of a baby boy (3kg)"

"The baby was delivered via cesarean section on Thursday, May 14, 2020. The mother and baby are doing well!", the tweet said.

LUTH commended the federal government, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and the Lagos state government for their support and extended its gratitude to all frontline staff who had made the delivery a success.

"We celebrate our frontline staff for this achievement. We also appreciate the support of the FGN, LASG, and NCDC".
