Amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, soccer superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, will be placed in quarantine for two weeks after the Juventus' main man returned to Turin, Italy on Monday.
Allnews reports that like many other humans, the Portuguese attacker spent almost two months in his native Madeira as the virus devastatingly affected Italy, forcing the country into lockdown.
The 35-year-old was expected back on May 18, when clubs were initially scheduled to return to training. But he is now back earlier than initially scheduled.
'CR7' and his family landed in Turin Airport just after 10:20 pm local time, according to media reports in Italy.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner arrived by private jet from the Portuguese island of Madeira.
The Italian government moved that date forward to May 4 after many regions gave permission for training centres to open again, prompting the Serie A giants to recall the foreign players who had left the country as the COVID-19 situation grew worse.
The players coming back will have to undergo two weeks of quarantine upon their arrival in Italy before they can begin training again.
As of Tuesday, training will resume. However, players will have to work on their own to abide by social distancing rules.
