Although the country had been recording high numbers, the fatalities have been low as when compared with other countries on the continent.
Health officials in the country have ascribed the country's low fatality rate to the government's quick move-in shutting off the borders and extended testing across the country.
Russia is currently on a lockdown that is expected to end on May 11, although, officials say that the lockdown could either extend or lifted depending on the extent of infectious cases in the country.
