COVID-19: Sanwo-Olu Bans Cross-Over Service in Lagos, Says 12 Midnight Curfew Still Stands

In the heat of the second wave of COVID-19, the governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu has banned Cross Over services in all churches accross the state.

Announcing the ban while addressing journalists on Thursday, Sanwo-Olu explained that the 12 midnight to 4am curfew placed by the Federal government earlier in the year was still very much active.

Asking religious leaders to ensure that their followers  observes COVID-19 protocols, Sanwo-Olu implored Lagosians to have their services at home.

“There are not meant to be any gathering. The curfew set by the NCDC (Nigeria Centre for Disease Control) and the PTF (Presidential Task Force on COVID-19) is still active. There is a national curfew from 12 midnight to 4:00 a.m. and that has to be respected. No night vigils in any form.

“The instructions are there and all of the restrictions are in place as set by the PTF and the Lagos State Safety Commission.

“So, there are no vigils anywhere. This is just one Christmas, we will have many Christmas. So, you can have your prayers at home,” Sanwo-Olu said.

AllNews recalls that Ondo State governor earlier cancelled Cross-over service in the state following the spike in COVID-19 cases across the country.
