The Executive Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has okayed Septemeber 28 for the reopening of secondary schools in Delta state.
Making this announcement the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Patrick Ukah, the governor further revealed that primary schools in the state will be allowed to open from October 6, 2020.

The Governor further revealed that second-term examination will be waived for students in Primary 1-3.
"Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has approved the reopening of primary and secondary schools in the state for the conclusion of the 2019/2020 academic session and the commencement of the 2020/2021 new academic session.
"Secondary school students in JSS 1, 2, SS 1 and SS 2 will resume from Monday, September 28, 2020, till Friday, October 9, 2020.
"Additionally, Primary School Pupils in Primary 4 and 5 that are yet to complete their second term examinations will resume on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, till Friday, October 9, 2020. The second term examinations will be waived for pupils in primary classes 1 to 3," the statement read.
It will be recalled that most states in the southwest have resumed academic activities in primary and secondary schools.
