The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, says that he tested negative for coronavirus after receiving his second test result.
He made this disclosure in a tweet, on Sunday, extending his appreciation to the people of the state for their support.
He tweeted, “I am deeply moved by your prayers and support throughout this period. I am so thankful. This evening, I received my second negative test result for COVID-19. I especially thank Prof Temitope Alonge, who acted in my stead as Head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force.
“I am also grateful to all members of the Task Force for their cooperation during this time. I will be resuming my responsibility as Head of the Task Force from tomorrow.”

The governor had announced his results six days ago, stating that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Other governors who also tested positive for the disease are Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State.
Nigeria currently has a record of 232 cases, with Lagos recording the highest in the country with 120 cases, followed by Abuja with 47, and Osun with 20 cases,
