Coronavirus cases in South Africa have jumped past 10,000, with the country recording 194 deaths, Minister of Health, Zwelini Mkhize, reveals.
In a statement, the minister said, “As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 10,015.
“We note with concern that the Western Cape and Eastern Cape combined comprises 84 percent of the total new cases."

South Africa recorded eight new deaths increasing the number to 194.
The country remains the hardest-hit country in the sub-Saharan region.
Lockdown measures in the country, imposed in late March, have been gradually eased since May 1.
