Amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic ravaging the globe, the Liga ACB's 2019-2020 season in Spain will end after a two-week tournament, the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB) announced on Wednesday, AllNews reports.
The Spanish basketball governing body said on its official website that the best 12 teams in this season's Endesa League standings will compete in a two-week-long tournament to decide the winner of the 2020 title.
The games are scheduled to be held in the city of Valencia.
In this contest, the ACB said, the teams will be split into two groups of six teams each and all clubs will play five games in the group stage.
The best two teams in each group (A and B) will qualify for the semifinals and the winners will have the ticket for 2020 final.
The last-four and the final will be played by a single match format.
Meanwhile, the organizers did not give a specific date for this tournament.

Recall that COVID-19 forced the ACB to stop the 2019-2020 season in Spain.
Group A: Barcelona, Iberostar Tenerife, RETAbet Bilbao, KIROLBET Baskonia, Unicaja, Joventut Badalona
Group B: Real Madrid, Casademont Zaragoza, MoraBanc Andorra, Valencia Basket, San Pablo Burgos, Herbalife Gran Canaria
