COVID-19: They Are Not Prayerful, Oyakhilome Slams Pastors Who Consented To Closure Of Churches

Chris Oyakhilome, the founder and president of LoveWorld Incorporated aka Christ Embassy, has kicked against the closure of church services over coronavirus pandemic.

In a video obtained from Linda Ikeji’s blog, Oyakhilome slammed the pastors for not seeking permission to pray and fast before consenting to the federal and states governments’ decision to close churches.

Allnews reports that the states in Nigeria had ordered the closure of religious centres to prevent the spread of coronavirus, since its outbreak in the country.

In a recent sermon, the cleric said the pastors consented to the decision because they were never prayerful before the outbreak of the pandemic.

“In different cities, countries, states, before the government went ahead with the lockdown, they held meetings with pastors, leaders of churches. Why did the pastors and leaders not say give us a few days to go and pray? Why didn’t they do that? Because they were not prayerful before. Prayer didn’t come to their minds.

“Hearing such a thing as Ministers of God and you are called for such a meeting, you couldn't say give us a few days and you would call the Ministers and say this is what we just heard from the government representatives and say we need to pray. We have asked them to give us three days. Then you would have seen the hand of God.

“But you weren't thinking about the father's house. Do you know what it is for you to shut down the congregations of the lord? Do you know what that means? It never meant anything to you, that is why. And there were pastors and Ministers that were sending strong warnings to others not to venture to enter a church because of the virus. This is because Christ has never truly being your lord. You have been the master of your life. You have never truly known him'' he said

Speaking further, he said “Let me tell you another one, you know I tell you the news before it happens. Do you ever hear of COVID-19 compliance free churches? It is coming. And if you allow your churches to be …it’s not the church of Jesus chirst because you don’t know what it means. COVID-19 churches will mean churches that people that are infected with COVID-19 cannot come there, it is a church of Jesus Christ but a place of healing.

“For those of you that love to run around government officials to get your validation, go and get COVID-19 compliance to your church, that is the last day Jesus will be in that church.”
