COVID-19: Three Ministers Test Positive In The Gambia

Three ministers in The Gambia have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, according to officials.

This comes days after President Adama Barrow announced that he would be self-isolating after his Vice, Isatou Touray, tested positive.

The presidency, in a tweet, said that the Minister of Finance, Mambureh Njie, Minister of Agriculture, Amie Fabureh, and the Petroleum and Energy Minister, Fafa Sanyang, "have tested positive" for coronavirus.

The Gambia has recorded a total of 498 coronavirus cases, with just 9 deaths since its index case was reported in March.

Fear among experts is that the country would be unable to contain the spread of the virus if it experiences a large outbreak.
