All residents of Turkey across 31 cities have been ordered to stay indoors for 48 hours from Friday midnight, this directive was initiated as part of measures to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.
According to the interior ministry, the 48 hours stay indoor order will last until 9pm on Sunday, as many cities will be affected including the country economic capital Istanbul, AFP reports.
This order led to residents shopping in a frenzy, with people rushing to markets to get comestibles and toiletries in Ankara and Istanbul.
