The United Kingdom recorded its highest death toll from coronavirus in 24 hours on Wednesday. It recorded a total of 938 deaths, making it the biggest since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in the country.
The country's health department said that 60,733 people tested positive for the virus, while 7,097 of that number have died.
According to the department of health, “As of 9am 8 April, 282,074 tests have concluded, with 14,682 tests on 7 April. 232,708 people have been tested of which 60,733 tested positive. As of 5pm on 7 April, of those hospitalised in the UK who tested positive for coronavirus, 7,097 have sadly died.”

These numbers do not include those who may have died in communities, making the number lower than it originally is, as the deaths recorded were of those hospitalised.
The age of the patients who died from the disease were between 22 and 103 years old, adding that only 46 of those who died did not have any prior health condition.
Uk's Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, had tested positive for the virus and was taken to intensive care on the advise of his doctor.
Although, according to Chancellor Rishi Sunak, Borris is getting “excellent care” while in the intensive unit, and he is showing signs of improvement.
