COVID-19: UK's Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, Moved To Inten

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, has been moved to intensive care after his condition deteriorated on Monday.

Allnews understands that Johnson was admitted to the hospital on Sunday night and had undergone a series of tests after suffering persistent symptoms.

The British leader has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab “to deputize for him where necessary,” according to Downing Street statement.

“Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the Prime Minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital,” a spokesman for his office said.

“The PM has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is the First Secretary of State, to deputize for him where necessary.”

Recall that 55-year-old Johnson had tested positive for the virus on March 26.

He completed the recommended seven days of isolation, then extended his quarantine for three more days, and then on the advice of his doctor checked into the hospital Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, the prime minister had said in a tweet on Monday afternoon he was “in good spirits and keeping in touch with my team,” and that his hospital stay was for “routine tests.”

His office had earlier said the prime minister was working from his bed.
