COVID-19: United States Death Toll Climbs Past 66,000

In the past 24 hours, the death toll in the United States jumped to more than 66,000, with an addition of 1,435 deaths recorded, according to a tally by John Hopkins University.

The record by the university shows that over 1.1 million cases have been recorded in the country as of 8:30 pm on Saturday, with the total number of deaths standing at 66,224, which is two percent more than what was recorded the previous day.

The United States remain the worst-hit country by the coronavirus pandemic.
