    Over the last 24 hours, the United States recorded 1,894 deaths from the coronavirus pandemic, which makes the total number of deaths from the disease in the country 82,246. 

    These figures are according to a tally recorded in real-time by John Hopkins University.

    The number is in contrast with the low figures recorded on Sunday and Monday where the US's death toll fell below 1,000.

    The US, the worst-hit country by deaths and confirmed coronavirus cases, has a total of 1,367,927 confirmed coronavirus cases, according to the university.
