COVID-19: US Death Toll Exceeds 50,000

The death toll from coronavirus in the United States has surged past 50,000 on Friday, this is according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The tally records a total of 50,031 death from the disease in the United States since the outbreak of the global pandemic that has a worldwide tally of over 870,000 confirmed cases.

In the last 24 hours, the United States recorded a total of 3,176, as of 0030 GMT on Friday, making it one of the deadliest death tolls recorded in 24 hours anywhere in the world since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus.

Some states in the US like texas and Georgia are deliberating the reopening of some businesses as they have started relaxing the restrictions in the states amid the alarming figures.
