Tuesday saw a rise in the death toll from coronavirus in the United States, according to a tally from John Hopkins University, drawing a parallel to the fatalities of Americans in the Vietnam war, stating that the current death toll surpassed the figures recorded during the war.
Within a 24-hour period, the US had recorded a total of 2,207 deaths, this comes after the number of daily deaths in the country had dipped to around 1,300 on Sunday and Monday.

The total number of death recorded in the US from the novel coronavirus is 58,351, more than the 58,220 recorded during the US-Vietnam war.
The United States total number of confirmed cases have climbed past one million, one-third of the global cases, according to data from John Hopkins University.
