    More than 2,000 deaths have been recorded in the United States in the past 24 hours for a third time straight, this is according to a real-time tally by John Hopkins University.

    United States continues to remain the worst-hit country globally by the coronavirus pandemic, recording 2,053 deaths on Thursday, after it had previously recorded 2,502 and 2,207 deaths on Wednesday and Tuesday respectively.

    Not less than 62,000 people have lost their lives to the disease in the United States, this is according to reports from the university.
