The Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Oqua Etim, has felicitated residents of the state on the commemoration of the Nigeria's 63rd Independence Day celebration.
The commissioner also congratulated the residents on the occasion of the state's 27-year anniversary.
This was contained in a statement on Sunday by the command's spokesperson, ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar.
According to Abubakar, the commissioner described the day as a momentous event that provides an opportunity for reflection, unity, and renewed commitment toward a brighter future for Gombe State and the nation at large.
"CP Oqua Etim urges all citizens of Gombe State to embrace the values of good conduct and abide by the laws of the land.
"He emphasizes the importance of being law-abiding citizens and encourages everyone to contribute positively to society, becoming ambassadors for both Gombe State and Nigeria.
"By upholding these principles, the people of Gombe State can play an instrumental role in the development and progress of the state, ensuring a prosperous future for all.
"Furthermore, as the custodian of law and order in Gombe State, the Commissioner of Police issues a stern warning to those with criminal intentions.
"CP Etim firmly states that Gombe State is not a haven for criminal activities, and law enforcement agencies are determined to maintain peace and security across the state.
"Any individuals involved in criminal behavior will face the full wrath of the law.
"The Gombe State Command assures the public of adequate security deployment and its commitment to protect lives and properties, especially during the Independence Celebration.
"CP Oqua Etim urges residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities. Together, we can create a secure and peaceful environment where progress and prosperity thrive.
"As Nigeria marks 63 years of independence, CP Oqua Etim expresses confidence in the bright future that lies ahead for Gombe State as it marks 27 years since it turned state.
