CP Gumel Hosts Kano Magistrates, Collaborate To Enhance Secu

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, has hosted the state's magistrates under the aegis of Magistrate Association of Nigeria (MAN).

The purpose of the meeting was to foster closer collaboration and exchange best practices to enhance security.

As contained in a statement by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on Friday, the meeting was also to strengthen the relationship between the state police command and the courts. 

The meeting, which was the first of its kind, brought together participants, including magistrates, Upper Shari’a Court judges, the Police Command's Management Team, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Sectional Heads and Tactical Commanders. 

In his opening remarks, CP Gumel expressed his delight, welcoming the magistrates and judges to the Command. 

He emphasized the importance of establishing a strong and cordial relationship between the police and the courts. 

CP Gumel further assured the attendees of the command's commitment to professionalism, soliciting their advice and expertise to achieve positive outcomes for the people of Kano State.

“I’m extremely delighted to receive a very respected personalities of the caliber of my worships and Honourable Judges of Upper Shari’a Court. 

"This visit to the Command is to set the benchmark and build a stronger cordial relationship between Kano State Police Command and the Courts. 

"This meeting being the first of its kind has made my day. 

"It gives hope that we will achieve the goal of keeping Kano State safe. 

"We are assuring you that we will continue to be professional in our duties, our doors are open for you and we will continue to seek your advice in order to have positive results for the betterment of the good people of Kano State," CP Gumel said. 

Chief Magistrate Aminu Usman Fagge, Chairman of the Magistrate Association in Kano, commended the Police Command for successfully facilitating peaceful elections and swearing-in ceremony in the state. 

He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to discuss crucial matters related to criminal cases in lower courts and the prevailing security situation.

Chief Magistrate Fagge acknowledged the challenges faced by the state, particularly the rise in robberies and acts of thuggery, stressing the need for collaborative efforts to address the issues.
