Cross-border clashes between Israel and Gaza intensified on Wednesday, with the exchange of rocket fire and airstrikes.
One person was reported dead and another was seriously wounded in the latest strikes.
While dozens of rockets were fired by Palestinian armed groups, there were no reports of casualties from the rocket fire.
The escalation followed Israeli airstrikes on Tuesday that killed 15 people, including three leaders of the Islamic Jihad armed group.
The latest round of violence comes on the second anniversary of an 11-day war fought between Gaza and Israel.
Israel and Palestine has been at war for long with many killed and injured in the conflict.
The latest strikes bring to over 120 the number of Palestinians killed in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict so far this year.
