The Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN) has called on more Nigerians to be cyber security conscious through continuous awareness programmes.
The Chairman of the Lagos Branch of CSEAN, Rotimi Ajasa, gave the advice in an interview on Tuesday in Lagos
Ajasa said that regular training by Nigerians would ensure cyber security in Nigeria.
Ajasa said that CSEAN had been in existence for about seven years and had branches across the nation where Nigerians could avail themselves of training.
He said that CSEAN call stakeholders’ meeting from every sector every year for the best solutions to the country’s security challenges.
‘’This is because Nigeria is a competitive country in terms of economy and technology, and the rating of Nigeria globally in terms of effort put in place for cyber security has gone up.
‘’CSEAN helps organisations create awareness on tools that can be used to enhance their cyber security.
‘’Better awareness or training on issues for some Nigerians such will in turn help at least 10 persons and that spreads,’’ he said.
According to him, that is why CSEAN encourages most of it members to train at least 10 persons each time and we have a lot of people that have in turn benefited from the training.
The chairman emphasised that the Cyber Security threat being faced by Nigeria was everyone’s responsibility and not only for the government or private organisations.
