Governor Ifeanyi Okowa's aide Ossai Ovie Success has advised Burna Boy to take the blame and publicly apologise for the shooting at Cubana Night Club.
According to the aide, Burna Boy's silence over the matter shows he is proud despite the fact that the officers attached to him were responsible for the shooting.
The aide argued that there is no justification for Burna Boy's refusal to apologise as victims of the shooting are currently in the hospital.
“Burna Boy should apologize for the shooting at Cubana Night Club publicly.
"As a public figure, it’s your responsibility to take blames and apologize whether you are wrong or right.
“Burna Boy keeping silent over what happened at Cubana club shows the pride in him.
"While investigations are ongoing, he should apologize to us all. What happened that night did happen because he was there and the officers attached to him did the shooting, so it’s paramount he tender his apology instead of displaying rudeness.
“Victims are in hospital and yet his pride doesn’t want to allow him to apologize. Burna Boy has no justification for not apologizing.”
It was reported that five policemen attached to Burna Boy were detained for attempted murder after shooting two fun-seekers— Irebami Lawrence and another identified simply as Tolu— at Club Cubana on Victoria Island, Lagos.
Steph Briella, a London-based Nigerian and the partner of one of the victims of the shooting at Club Cubana, took to her Instagram page on Monday to narrate what transpired.
On June 8, Briella, in the company of her partner and her best friend, who visited Nigeria from America for their childhood friend’s wedding, went to Club Cubana, Victoria Island, Lagos, when Burna Boy’s aides allegedly shot at them.
Briella said the Grammy winner allegedly watched his escort shoot her partner because the singer’s escort allegedly made several advances at her.
She claimed he told her that Burna Boy wanted her to come over to his section of the club and how she refused, explaining that she was married.
