Custom Officers Stole My N3.7 Million – Bodija Rice seller

Some Bodija market women have alleged that officers of the Nigeria Customs had on April 1, 2021, illegally raided the market after tieing down one of the market watchmen on guard at the Iwo-road section of the market.

Speaking on behalf of the Association on a radio program, Situation room at Fresh FM 105.9 this morning, the representative of the Rice Sellers and Dealers Association in the market; Alhaja R.O Mosope stated that about N3.7 Million was carted away from her own shop in the market.

According to Mrs. Mosope, the Customs Officers came with trucks and loaders to invade different sections of the markets.

“I was called that customs officers invaded the market and they were so many in numbers with loaders. They were breaking into shops in the Iwo road section of the market, and they don’t spare anyone there. They even broke into some provision dealers’ shops. So they made from one shop to another. They broke them, they loaded rice, they even tied the security down for their operation.”
