More than 24,000 COVID-19 cases have been reported daily in the Netherlands as the number of infections rises by 60 percent despite widespread restrictions.
Aljazeera reported on Wednesday, that the daily coronavirus infections in the Netherlands soared to a record high of around 24,500, as the Omicron variant become dominant in the country as of late.
In other countries like the United States, Australia, France, the United Kingdom and some African countries, the number of daily cases are becoming higher than regular, especially with the discovery of the omicron variant.
In Australia, 64,758 new cases were reported on Wednesday. In the UK, over 194,000 new cases and 334 deaths were recorded within 28 days.
