Dangote refinery to dispense petrol into markets by May

Dangote refinery will begin releasing fuel into the market by May, according to Dr Ralph Arokoyo, CEO of AF Ralph Oil and Gas Ventures.

Allnews.ng learned that Arokoyo made this assertion one day after the Dangote refinery acknowledged on Tuesday, April 2, that it was supplying diesel to marketers.

Arokoyo stated in a Punch interview that the Dangote refinery had informed them that "The petroleum would be ready in May, which is the next month. Given that PMS is mostly utilised by Nigerians, we have optimism regarding this."

The sale of diesel to marketers was also verified by a senior official at the Dangote refinery, who also stated that Premium Motor Spirit—commonly known as gasoline—would soon be available for purchase.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to a lack of authorization, stated that the Dangote refinery's move will result in lower fuel prices in the country.

The insider claimed, "The product (diesel) is everywhere, and they (marketers) have easy access to it. The product has been on sale to marketers since last week, and the transactions have been smoother.

"The price of the product in various locations of the country will come down, and it is already coming down in many parts of Lagos since we started releasing products to marketers."
