Dangote unveils first petrol sample from Lagos refinery

Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has unveiled the inaugural sample of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, commonly referred to as petrol, produced at his refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.

According to a video obtained by allnews.ng, this announcement was made during a broadcast on Tuesday, coinciding with a test run of the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery.

In his presentation, Dangote expressed his appreciation to the Nigerian people and praised President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its support.

“I would like to salute the people of Nigeria and the government of President Bola Tinubu for providing a platform for growth, development, and prosperity,” Dangote stated.

He also highlighted the impact of the government’s policy on stabilising the Naira through crude oil transactions.

“I want to thank President Tinubu personally for introducing the idea of trading crude for Naira. This move will help stabilise our currency,” he added.

Dangote further emphasised the significance of the refinery’s operations, saying, “With this refinery in operation, we can accurately determine Nigeria’s true petrol consumption and monitor every truck and ship loaded with the product.”

He assured that the refinery’s output would not only meet the needs of Nigeria but also supply fuel to the broader sub-Saharan African region.
