Death Of 17-Year-Old Boy Sparks Protest In Kano

A protest is currently ongoing in Kano state following the death of a 17-year-old boy simply identified as Saifullah.

According to Amnesty International via its Twitter page, the boy died in police custody after he was tortured by the police

It was also gathered that protesters have set tyres on fire and also barricaded the main Kofar Mata road, chanting songs that call for the end of police brutality.

“Protest is currently going on in Kano around Kofar Mata area, following the death of Saifullah - a 17-year-old in police custody in the morning. The protest against police brutality erupted after it was learnt that Saifullah was allegedly tortured to death by the police. #EndSARS

“Protsters have barricaded the main Kofar Mata road and set tyres on fire chanting songs calling for an end to police brutality. #EndSARS.”

 

AllNews gathered that the protest started on Monday after the police took the victim’s corpse to his parents’ house.
