'Declare support for Tinubu or exit' - Matawalle tells Northern Presidential appointees

'Declare support for Tinubu or exit' - Matawalle tells North

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, issued a challenge on Monday to the Political Adviser to the President, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, and all appointees of the federal government from the North, urging them to take a stand in support of the administration of President Bola Tinubu or exit immediately.

In a statement addressed to Defence Correspondents in Abuja, Matawalle criticised the silence of Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed and others amid attacks on the Tinubu administration by the Northern Elders Forum (NEF).

Matawalle emphasised the importance of Baba-Ahmed, particularly as the Special Adviser on Political Matters in the Presidency, to declare his stance on the matter.

He stated, "It has come to my attention that Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who once served as the Spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum and currently holds the position of Special Adviser on Political Matters in the Presidency, expressed a different position on his page regarding my stand against the unjust attack on the administration of President Tinubu."

Matawalle asserted that every appointee of President Tinubu, including Dr. Baba-Ahmed, has a duty to promote and defend the government against unjust attacks, emphasizing the need for solidarity and support for the administration.

He concluded by urging all appointees from the North to take a clear stand and support the administration of President Tinubu, emphasizing that silence in the face of misrepresentation and intimidation is not an option.
