No fewer than 500 All Progressive Congress (APC) members decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igbajo, Boluwaduro local government area of Osun State on Sunday.
This was made known in a statement by Oluwaseyi Adeniyi, Publicity Secretary, Ifedayo local government PDP Presidential Campaign Management Committee.
Receiving them into the PDP fold, House of Representatives candidate, Clement Akanni and other notable leaders in the federal constituency assured them that their interests will be protected.
Akanbi who noted that what happened during the gubernatorial election was just a tip of an iceberg hinted that the Osun APC should expect more in the 2023 general elections.
He noted that the final burial of the party comes up on November 27, 2022, when Senator Ademola Adeleke will be sworn in as the state governor.
The former lawmaker said the APC had failed Nigerians, hence the party cannot be trusted again.
"The party which promised to equate dollar to naira, which promised to end insecurity within six months, which promised Nigerians 3 million jobs every year, could not deliver on any of its promises.
"What you witnessed during the Osun gubernatorial election signalled the end of APC in Nigeria.
"Before the swearing-in ceremony, many will still join PDP in Osun."
