Delta state governor Ifeanyi and wife, Edith on Wednesday tested positive for COVID-19.
AllNews reports that Okowa, who became the 6th Nigerian governor to test positive for the virus, made the announcement on his Facebook page.
His positive status is coming days after one of his daughters tested positive on June 26.
The governor said: “My wife and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We are well and continuing with our isolation/medication. We thank you all for your continued prayers for us and our daughter.”
Okowa also said himself and Edith Okowa will both be going into isolation for the next 14-daysand will provide updates on their health.
Delta state has a total of 965 cases of COVID-19.
This also comes barely 24 hours after Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu tested positive.
