Derby Appoints Man Utd Legend Rooney As Manager

English Football League (EFL) side, Derby County have confirmed the permanent deal for Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney as the club's head coach. 

Rooney 35, has taken up a position with the Derbyshire side that will see him with the club till 2023 summer.

He was appointed in a player-coaching capacity initially but after former manager Phillip Cocou parted ways with the club earlier in November 2020 he assumed the full role.

The former Everton man will have Liam Rosenior, Shay Given, and Justin Walker as member of his coaching staff.

Wayne Rooney who spent most of his trophy-laden career with United winning 1 UEFA Champions League, 1 Europa League, 1 FIFA Club World Cup, 5 Premier League, 1 FA Cup, 6 Community Shields, and 4 League Cups.

He could be the one who leads Derby back to the top of English top-flight as they presently play in the second tier of English football, the English Football League Championship (EFL).
