DFB Pokal: Leipzig Crush Freiburg To Progress Into Final

RB Leipzig cruised to a 5-1 win against Freiburg on Tuesday to secure their place in the German Cup final. Dani Olmo was the star of the show, scoring one and assisting three more in the first half alone.

The Spanish forward headed Leipzig in front before setting up Benjamin Henrichs, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Christopher Nkunku to give the visitors a commanding 4-0 lead at half-time.

Despite a late consolation goal from Michael Gregoritsch, Leipzig wrapped up the win with a second goal from Szoboszlai in injury time.

This victory means that Leipzig have now reached four of the past five German Cup finals.

The Red Bulls will be heavily favoured in the final in early June, with their pressing and verve reminiscent of their 2-0 demolition of Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Freiburg and Leipzig face each other again in the league on Saturday, in a crucial match in the sides' battle for Champions League football.
