DIG Inuwa Visits Kano Emir, Extends IGP's Peace Message

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police supervising the North-West Geo-Political Zone, DIG Hafiz M. Inuwa, has visited the Emir of Kano, HRH Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, ahead of the Saturday gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

DIG Inuwa said the visit was to deliver the message for peace of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba.

The DIG who visited on Friday, added that it was also to seek for support and cooperation of the Emir to ensure peaceful conduct of the elections.

This was contained in a statement by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command. 

"That, on his tour to the seven States of the North-West Geo-political zone, he is today in Kano, and he deemed it very necessary to extend the IGP's peace message to the emirate council. 

"The DIG further stated that he held meetings with Police Officers, Political Parties leaders, aspirants and other election stakeholders in the State for the need to have peaceful and successful Gubernatorial /State Assembly Elections."

DIG Inuwa further appreciated the Emir for his warm reception and continuous effort in preaching peace across Kano and Nigeria as a whole. 

Responding, the Emir, HRH Alhaji Bayero, commended the DIG for his effort in fighting crime while congratulating him on his recent promotion to the DIG rank. 

"We must salute you for your effort in crime fighting. 

"We congratulate you DIG for your recent elevation to this noble rank. 

"It is the tradition of this emirate to advise security agencies. 

"Whatever you do, people must accuse you whether right or wrong. 

"Do the right thing and Almighty Allah will be with you. 

"We will continue to preach peace as we are brothers to one another, let politics not divide us. 

"We will also, continue to talk to our politicians to call their supporters to order.

"You have our prayers, support and cooperation."
