Disney Plus logo changes amid Hulu merger speculations

Disney Plus has introduced subtle changes to its logo and splash screen, possibly indicating an impending merger with Hulu.

The most notable adjustment is the addition of a teal or seafoam background colour, blending elements of the original blue background with Hulu's green.

These updates, already visible on the Disney Plus website and various app stores, serve multiple purposes for the media conglomerate.

While aligning with Hulu's branding, the new colour scheme aims to differentiate Disney Plus from its competitors in the streaming market. However, some fans have expressed nostalgia for the previous logo.

Since its inception in 2019, Disney Plus has prominently featured a deep royal blue colour reminiscent of the iconic Cinderella castle logo.

For many viewers, this design evokes fond memories of classic Disney films. While the updated logo maintains the recognisable Disney aesthetic, the removal of the colour gradient on the curved swoosh may diminish some of its whimsical charm.

Moreover, the revised design may pose challenges for Disney Plus subscribers outside the United States, particularly in regions where Hulu is less recognised.

As Hulu has already been integrated into Disney's streaming platform in some areas, the new logo could confuse international audiences unfamiliar with Hulu's presence.

These logo and splash screen updates signify Disney's ongoing efforts to adapt its streaming service to evolving market dynamics. While the changes suggest a potential merger with Hulu, they also reflect the company's commitment to maintaining a distinct brand identity amid industry shifts.
