Do2dtun Clears Air On Death Of Wazobia Staff, Accuses OAP Of Peddling Rumours

Do2dtun Clears Air On Death Of Wazobia Staff, Accuses OAP Of

Do2dtun, an On-air personality at Cool FM has accused Bolarinwa Olajide, a sports presenter at Max FM of spreading rumours on the death of a former member of staff with Wazobia FM, Hillary Okechukwu.

Earlier, rumours made rounds that Okechukwu who was a sales executive at the Lagos-based radio station, took his own life on Friday, November 20, after he was asked to resign on 18th over misappropriation of funds.

According to reports, Okechukwu who worked with Wazobia FM for at least 10 years, suffered a cardiac arrest from a drug overdose.

In his tribute to the deceased on Saturday, November 21, Bolarinwa wrote: “People are going through a lot, and sacking people unjustly is the last thing an employer should do in these times. A friend was sacked and took his life the following day. Do not test people’s mental health. Nigeria is hard enough. RIP Hilary O.”

However, slamming Bolarinwa in a series of tweets on Tuesday, November 24, Do2dtun accused him of "spreading rumours, while maintaining that Okechukwu did not commit suicide.

"I am so appalled with all these bloggers that latch on stories without proper findings and conclusions. @iambolar I love you but I am also disappointed in you. You are peddling rumors."

In another tweet, Do2dtun asked his fellow media personality to settle whatever issues he has with Wazobia FM, rather than spreading false news.

"If you had your issues with the establishment @iambolar .. it’s. your fight and that’s fair but don’t smear a guy’s name cos your emotions are running wild. Call me or someone credible and ask for the real story. Save the situation not aggravate it by carrying a wrong gist."

While responding to a tweet where Bolarinawa called him a clout chaser, the Cool FM's OAP said, "You are the clout chaser here. Bloody coward... you for stay here make I word you.. You are not clout chasing but you tweeted about a guy’s death with a wrong information. Clarify or shut up!"

Reacting to a tweet from a follower who asked if Okechukwu really committed suicide, Do2dtun described Bolarinwa as "stupid", adding that Okechukwu "was rushed to the hospital cos he was suddenly hallucinating and that could have been caused by anything else. He wasnt feeling well..He was injected at the hospital, he passed. He tweeted like an Idiot & as usual the bloggers jumped on it."

Meanwhile, the head of stations for Cool FM and Wazobia FM, Femi Obong-Daniels, said there is yet to be medical evidence that his death was a case of suicide.

“I can confirm we’ve lost a staff but there’s no evidence yet that it was a case of suicide. There’s no medical report. We just know we’ve lost a member of staff. We’ve lost a FORMER staff,” Obong-Daniels said.
