Chairman DAAR Communications Plc, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr, on Monday announced that he has tested positive for coronavirus.
The announcement was made in a short message to members of staff in Abuja, AIT reports.
Dokpesi, who is said to have a travel history, was reportedly on isolation in the past week after developing symptoms of malaria.
He also reportedly contacted the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for a COVID-19 test, but the result came out positive on Monday.
In his message, he asked people who have had recent interactions with him to go on isolation.
“I got a call this morning confirming the result is COVID-19 positive. I am leaving now to the Gwagwalada Isolation Centre for treatment and hope to be back in two weeks. Many of you may have interacted with me during our various meetings and I would advise you to get tested as soon as possible,” the message read.
Reports say tracing is ongoing for those who had recent interactions with the chairman.
