Dominic Solanke wins Premier League player of Month Award

Bournemouth v Tottenham

Nigeria-born striker Dominic Solanke has been awarded Premier League player of the month for December.

The Bournemouth striker becomes the first ever player to win the award at the club.

Solanke won the award for the first time in his playing carrier netting six goals to his credit in December.

He now moves close just within two strikes behind Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah in the race for the Premier League Golden bot.

The Anglo-Nigerian netted in a 2-2 with Aston Villa, he recorded his first career hat-trick to lead a comeback win at Nottingham Forest.

He was also on the score sheet in the 3-0 victories over Erik ten Hag's Manchester United and Fulham.

He's been in imperious form thus helping Bournemouth to win four matches and draw once of their fixtures in December.

(Dominic) Solanke is just the only fourth Bournemouth player or manager to win a Premier League monthly award.

Former AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has won the EPL manager of the month on three occasion.

While Charlie Daniel and Jermain Defoe won the Goal of the Month prize in August and December respectively.
