Doubts Made Me Ignore Man Utd, Leeds Utd — Gakpo

Dutch forward Cody Gakpo has explained why he did not join Manchester United or Leeds United and chose Liverpool over the two other Premier League side.

PSV Eindhoven had to let go of Gakpo after the forward put himself in further light at the World Cup in Qatar. Gakpo scored three goals in Qatar 2022.

Speaking to the Mirror, the Netherlands international said, “It was difficult this summer. It was a very intense period.

“I thought I was going to Manchester United, but in the end, it did not work out. Leeds United came in.

“They’re a good club, but I asked myself if I should really go there and when you’ve a lot of doubts, it is not good.”
