Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has congratulated Victor Osimhen following his record-breaking goal for Napoli in Sunday’s home win against Fiorentina.
Napoli won the match 1-nil courtesy of Osimhen's strike from the spot.
The goal increased his tally to 23 goals in the 2022-23 Serie A season and ensured that he overtook George Weah (46) as the highest African goal scorer in Serie A with 47 goals.
Reacting to Osimhen’s historic goal, Drogba wrote on Twitter: “Indeed Capo @victorosimhen9 from the streets of Nigeria to the World’s History books.
“Congratulations my Brother to you and your Club @en_sscnapoli.”

Congratulations my Brother to you and your Club @en_sscnapoli https://t.co/KhJTO7AP15
The feat is coming on the heels of the Nigerian international smashing Samuel Eto’s record of 21 goals in a Series A season last Thursday.
