DSS Responds To Nnamdi Kanu Torture Allegations

DSS

The spokesperson for the Directorate of Secret Service (DSS) Peter Afunaya has responded to the allegations leveled by Nnamdi Kanu and his Lawyers on the issue of torture and ill-treatment meted out as he remains in custody.

Akunaya stated that the organisation had nothing to say with respect to the allegation as the case is still in court.

He disclosed that the aggrieved can as well report the case to court for redress as it was the right thing to do.

"There is nothing we can say on the issue as alleged by Nnamdi Kanu as the case is in court. Besides, anyone who is angry on the turn of events can go to court as the law advises", he said.

Nnamdi Kanu has been in DSS detention since June 2021 on the order of the Federal High Court in Nigeria.

Complaints from Kanu's lawyer on Tuesday alleged that the IPOB leader was kept in a small cell without light.
