Nigeria's women's basketball national team, D'Tigress, will play against Canada, Australia and hosts France in Group B of the 2024 Olympics Games after Tuesday night's draw held by the Federation of International Basketball Association.

The draw ceremony was held under the leadership of FIBA President Sheikh Saud Ali AL Thani and FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis as well as representatives from participating Federations.

The Paris Games will be the third time D'Tigress will be qualifying for the basketball event of the Olympics. 

D'Tigress qualified for Athens 2004 and featured at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics but are yet to register a win in the competition.

The team coached by Rena Wakama qualified for the Games after defeating Senegal and losing to USA in the qualification series in Antwerp, Belgium.

Despite the loss against the Americans, the African champions were able to make it as USA had already qualified courtesy of their World Basketball Championship title win and Senegal's defeat against Belgium.

Group A of the draws contains Serbia, Spain, China and Puerto Rico while Germany, USA, Japan and Belgium make up Group C.

Nigeria's men national team, D'Tigers failed to book a place in the men's version of the basketball at the Games.

Australia, Greece, Spain and Canada are drawn in Group A. Three European teams and one Asian power in France, Germany, Japan, Latvia are in Group B. 

In Group C, Africa's representative, South Sudan, have a massive task to overcome USA, Puerto Rico and Serbia in Group C of the men's section.

The basketball events of the Paris 2024 Olympics will hold between July 27 and August 11.
