Dukku: Over 30,000 Benefited From Yahaya's Administration -

The Caretaker Chairman of Dukku local government area of Gombe State, Jamilu Shabewa has said that over 30,000 people have benefitted from the Governor Inuwa Yahaya-led administration. 

Shabewa said most of the beneficiaries were women and youths.

He noted that the LGA tops the list of LGAs in the state to have benefitted from the governor's numerous empowerment projects.

Shabewa made this known on Monday at the palace of the Emir of Dukku, HRH. Alhaji Abdulkadir Haruna Rasheed.

Shabewa who made the remark when the state's First Lady, Hajiya Asma'u Inuwa Yahaya visited to launch her empowerment programme, 'Inuwar Alheri Women Empowerment', said governor Yahaya has provided purposeful leadership in the state.

The Chairman, appreciated the governor and his First Lady for standing with Dukku LGA at all times. 

He explained that the governor Yahaya-led administration had empowered over 4,000 beneficiaries through the Gombe Goes Green afforestation project in Dukku.

He added that 17,200 women and youths in the LGA had also benefitted from the governor's cash transfer intervention project. 

Shabewa noted that amongst many other intervention projects by the governor, 3,600 people in the LGA benefitted from the governor's Social Investment programme.

Also speaking, the Emir of Dukku, HRH. Alh. Rasheed promised to support any initiative that would impact positively on the people of the LGA.

The Emir had earlier honoured the First Lady with a traditional title of 'Azurfan Dukku' to appreciate her for her initiatives aimed at improving livelihood of women and children.
