An earthquake rocked the Izu-Ogasawara Islands in Japan and hit Indonesia in another tragedy on Monday.
According to US Geological Survey, the magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit the Izu-Ogasawara Islands and originated at an estimated depth of 409.1 kilometres.
Also on Monday, an undersea earthquake shook part of western Indonesia but there were no immediate reports of severe damage or casualties.
The earthquake was centred 40 kilometres southeast of Singkil, a coastal district in Aceh province at a depth of 37 kilometres, the U.S. Geological Survey added.
No tsunami alert was also issued by Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency.
