Easter: Osun NSCDC Stations 1,200 Personnel To Strengthen Security

In a bid to create an atmosphere free of crimes and rowdiness, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State command has positioned 1,200 officers to beef up security across the state as the Easter celebration approaches.

The personnel have been charged to provide an atmosphere free of rancour and animosity across the state, before, during and after the Easter season.

In a press release by the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Emmanuel Ocheja and made available to journalists on Wednesday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Atanda Olabisi, said the command has set up multitudinous strategies with security arrangements to make sure the Christians enjoy crime-free Easter jollity in the state.

Ocheja said officers have been dispatched and positioned on major roads across the state.

He said patrol teams and surveillance squads would be on ground to safeguard public places and the recreational centres during the celebration within the state and its environment.

Speaking, Commandant Emmanuel Ocheja charged Christians to be in moderation as the Easter celebration takes up the air, and be law-abiding as crucifixion and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ ushers in new blessings.

“Officers and men are already emplaced on the major roads across the state; patrol teams and surveillance squads will provide security at public places and recreation centres throughout the celebrations.

“I appeal to members of the public to be moderate in their celebration, saying personnel will display a high level of professionalism while discharging their duties.

“I assure the public that the personnel will be civil and polite but firm in ensuring the security of lives and property.“
