Nigerian gospel singer, Timi Dakolo, has called on Christians to obey the lockdown directive as they celebrate annual Easter.
Allnews reports that some states and the federal government had issued total lockdown in order to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.
In an Instagram post, Dakolo urged Christians not to put God to test by going to their worship centres for Easter celebration slated for April 12 and 13.
“Do not put the Lord your God to test, stay home on Easter Sunday. God don’t dwell in buildings but in the hidden depth of our heart. It’s a relationship not a conference,” he wrote on Instagram.
Meanwhile, some states, such as Akwa Ibom, Katsina and lifted the lockdown for Christians to celebrate.
Singer and politician, Banky W, who was not pleased with this took to his Twitter handle to ask the governments if coronavirus will also be on holiday.
"So for the State Governments that have suspended isolation & social distancing for Easter... do they have an agreement with the Coronavirus that it will also go on Easter break as well? These our "leaders" sha. Kai," he tweeted.
