Ebonyi: Gunmen Kill LG Chairman's Brothers, One Other

Unidentified gunmen caused mayhem in the Ikwo Local Government Area in Ebonyi State by reportedly killing three brothers of the Local Government Chairman and one other for unknown reasons.

The gunmen invaded the community and headed to the family house of the Ikwo LGA Chairman, Steve Oruogwu, opening fire on the residents.

It was also revealed that the men had issued a threat to Oruogwu since he assumed office and had tried to raze his house but were stopped by security operatives at different times.

This time, they succeeded in invading the LGA Chairman's residence and killed his brothers while he was in Abakaliki town.

A source who begged anonymity disclosed that four men were taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ebonyi where they were all confirmed dead.

“And out of the four deceased, 3 were from the same family", the source said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ebonyi State Police Command, SP, Loveth Odah, confirmed that news of the killing of the Ikwo LGA council Chairman’s brothers had gotten to the command.
