English singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran has tested positive for the coronavirus and is presently self-isolating.
The news was shared on Instagram by Sheeran himself on Sunday and he mentioned that he had canceled all in-person commitments as he was following the government's COVID-19 guidelines.
"Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for Covid, so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines", he wrote.

"It means that I’m now unable to plough ahead with any in-person commitments for now, so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house.
"Apologies to anyone I’ve let down. Be safe everyone x."
Sheeran performed at the inaugural Earthshot Prize Awards last week and he was expected to join Apple Music’s Zane Lowe live to give renditions of his new songs next week. With his COVID-19 diagnosis, that will obviously not happen.
The Shape of You crooner was also scheduled to play at live shows in 2022 from April to September 2021. That includes a three-night run at Wembley Stadium in London, as well as venues in central Europe, Ireland, and Scandinavia as part of the Mathematics tour.
